1933. unbound. 2.25 x 4.5 inches, no place, dated March 27, 1933, with the addition of a sentiment written in Gaelic (not translated). Fine condition. Irish radical politician who served in the governments of Eamon de Valera and Sean Lemass in a range of ministerial positions. During the 1916 uprising, he mobilized at Dundalk and fought in the General Post Office Garrison. This action earned him a sentence of death, later commuted to life in prison and soon after, released in the General Amnesty. In 1921 he voted against the Anglo-Irish Treaty and commanded the IRA unit in Marlboro Street Post Office in Dublin. These actions also caused him to be arrested and jailed until 1924.
