The story of the deep friendship between Manzu (a Communist) and John XXIII The Pope), based upon the personal recollections of Giacomo Manzu, with his illustrations. Pope John XXIII commissioned Manzu to make a portrait bust, and Manzu followed on to sculpt the magnificent bronze Doors of Death for St. Peter's in Rome. Warmly inscribed to artist Will Barnet and his wife, Elena, from the author.
