Head and foot of spine chipped, corners rubbed. Minor scattered foxing. Good. A series of thirteen letters supplying an early account of the people and customs of the United States. The Abbé Robin was a chaplain in the army of Count Rochambeau. His descriptions of the city of Boston, Gen. Washington, and the final days of the Revolutionary War are particularly good. The Abbé's work is bound with a little-known account of a voyage to India and the writer's assessment of the English presence there.
