An early decorative American broadside providing directions for "Grecian painting," describing ways to color engravings. Printed in two columns, the text includes a supply list, guidance on colors and mixing paints, plus directions for coloring engravings of figures and landscapes. Popular in the early 19th century, it was often used to produce romantic dusk-like night scenes, and was executed on a paper surface coated with pulverized marble dust.
