By 1969, however, when his game was falling apart, a chance encounter at Preston Trail led to an invitation from Ben Hogan to come to Fort Worth to study with the Master. That Fall he began lessons with Hogan that continued for three months, then intermittently for the next several years. In 1973, Schlee won the Hawaiian Open and finished one stroke behind Johnny Miller in the U.S. Open and became a consistent money winner on the tour until a bad back forced his retirement in 1978. In 1980, he began a teaching pro career and wrote this highly sought book in 1986. As Schlee said "Much of what Ben shared with me was totally different from anything I had ever heard before, or since. And it worked. All of what Ben shared with me, I now give to you." This book is said to disclose the secret of 'The Hawk's' swing. Scarce and highly sought after. . (Inventory #: 17290)
