Volume two has the EARLIEST IMAGE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. The plate is a view in 1846 of the U.S. troop encamped at Corpus Christi during the war with Mexico with an article on the war. Examples of other articles apply to Mexico, such as "Caravanas de los Estados-Unidos al Territorio Mexicano" ; "La ciudad de Guadalupe Hidalgo"; Historic documents about the last moment of Iturbide. The Science section includes an aritcles on the origen of cultivated plants in Mexico. Literature includes work by Guillermo Prieto.
