NY: G.E. Whitehorne, Steam Printer, 1862. Softcover. Good. Tight copy, but contents are lightly stained/age-toned. Covers have shelf wear; with an ex-lib. sticker and stamp on rear cover.. Pale green wraps. 16 pp., no illustrations. Begins with a short history, followed by a notice that beginning with this (apparently final) exhibition, all pictures would be for sale and those not sold would be disposed of at auction. Lists 89 paintings. This is followed by a listing of 2 sculptures by American Sculptors (William Barbee mand Chauncey Ives), and 18 oil paintings(all but 2 apparently by American hands) including a work by Thomas Sully, 5 works by Lily Martin Spencer, one by William Sontag, 2 by George H. Hall. Quite scarce. It seems as early as 1857 the Association of the Dusseldorf Gallery was commissioning paintings from Spencer.
