Santa Barbara's Royal Rancho: The Fabulous History of Los Dos Pueblos
by Tompkins, Walker A.
Goleta CA: Dos Pueblos Publications. Near Fine in Good dj. (c.1987). First Edition. Hardcover. 0-8310-7020-X . [a solid clean book, with just a trace of shelfwear to the bottom edge; jacket is pretty well-worn, with tiny tears at several corners, a fair amount of rubbing/creasing, miscellaneous small edge-nicks, etc.] The 400-year history of Rancho Dos Pueblos, originally granted to Mission Santa Barbara by King Carlos III of Spain, and located a few miles to the west of the current city of Santa Barbara, California. This is a republication of a book originally published in 1960, with a short added chapter about Rudi Schulte and how he came to be the most recent owner-occupant of the Rancho in 1977. (This is undoubtedly why the book is designated as the "Schulte Edition" on the copyright page, although the rear jacket panel text refers to it as "this fifth edition.") . (Inventory #: 22193)
