Two of the illustrations depict men in their uniforms, one from the Union and one from the Confederacy. 87pp. 4to, later 3/4 cloth, marbled boards; (ex-lib; text block loose in binding, some pages and plates loose; spine worn; margin of t.p. dampstained, light foxing to margins of plates). Washington: GPO, 1867. Good. Plates are detailed and depict patients after amputation. Author was a surgeon during the Civil War.
