Text is in French, with Italian works annotated by Lionello Venturi (but in French). Paintings, tapestries, Limoges porcelain, miniatures, bronzes, and goldsmithing are all featured in this large compendium of the collection, their beautiful plates annotated in French. Catalogue from the public sale held November 13-14, 1928. Most works are by French, Dutch, or Italian masters. Marcell or Marczell Nemes was a Hungarian financier, art collector and art dealer. Sadly, Hungarian art is lacking in this collection. A large and heavy volume.
