No Binding. Very Good. Collection of 114 letters, 318 pp., most with retained mailing envelopes, dated 1869-1891, with the bulk dating from the 1880s. Four of the letters are not dated, but fall within the general time frame. The collection also includes 16 postcards dated 1879-1887. All of the letters appear to be incoming correspondence to Moss M. Nash, of Martinsburgh, New York, and Lorain, Ohio. They are written by his parents, sister, cousin, and several friends from his school boy days. His father writes at least twenty letters, his mother nine. His sister Lottie writes eight letters. His cousin Martin S. Butrick, of Edwardsville, New York (his mother's side of the family) writes to him on at least fourteen occasions. A friend, Charles Hough, writes to him on a number of occasions, as do friends named Mell and Will. Will is at Fort Collins, Colorado and Mell moved to New York City to become an artist, later relocating to Utica. (Inventory #: 030065)
