Jenkins Basic Texas Books 121: "The best account of the most famous ranch in the world ... few, if any, Texas books have had such a perfect blend of text, design, and illustrations." Adams Herd 1319: "Not a single volume of this edition was sold, for all were given to friends and relatives." Reese Six Score 69: "Most exhaustive ranch history ever written, and a tremendous account of the cattle industry in south Texas." Very good. Original crash linen, printed in the pattern "of the saddle blankets woven and used on the King Ranch," with a running "W" brand, publisher's linen slipcase, with leather label on spine. (#732).
