An early Muses Almanach from the first period of the German annuals of poetry, etc. published as tributes to the influential Almanach des Muses, (published in Paris, 1765-1833). Published by Engelhard Benjamin Schwickert. With the faint oval stamps of "R. Werckmeister - Museum" on the title page and the next leaf, and a fine etched bookplate of S. R. Feder [ca. 1900 -- signed by the artist: Kathe Wolff in pencil]. Minor rubbing to the binding, black label on the spine has date (1776) partly effaced, a few leaves with minor stains and toning -- but a sound and complete copy. This year, 1776, was the first issued under a new title [from 1770, the Leipzig almanacs had appeared under the title: "Leipziger Almanach der deutschen Musen"].
