Postmaster General Gideon Granger reports to Congress on postal routes losing money and on the public contacts made with individuals and companies to carry the mail. The first eight tables list the forty-five roads that "have not in the last year produced one-third part of carrying the mail on the same," and the second eight list contracted mail carriers and the fees paid to them by the federal government.
