NP: NP, 1918. Original document. Broadside. vg. A large 32 3/4 x 23" photo-illustrated poster celebrating the fall of Jerusalem by General Sir Edmund Allenby's British troops (December 9, 1917), and its liberation after a centuries-long domination under the Turks.
The poster contains five photogravures: a large panorama of the Holy City (28 1/4 x 7 1/8"), three views (app. 5 x 3"), and a portrait of General Allenby (3 x 4 7/8").
The poster is in German and must have been produced either in German-speaking Switzerland, or within America's German community as at the time, the German Empire was allied with the Ottoman Empire.
Closed tear along left fore-edge (not affecting text or illustrations). Folding marks. Poster in overall very good condition. (Inventory #: 40634)
