1927. TAUT, Bruno. Ein Wohn Haus. [iv], 118, pp. Illustrated with 104 photographs and 72 plates from drawings, plus one colour plate and one folding "keyboard" colour chart. 8vo., 235 x 155 mm, bound in publisher's yellow cloth with red details and circular photograph in upper corner. Stuttgart: W. Keller & Co., 1927. First Edition. Designed by Johannes Molzahn of Magdeburg for the series "Kosmos-Haus-Bücher," Ein Wohn Haus is an illustrated description of the ideal family home according to German architect Bruno Julius Florian Taut (1880-1938). Modelling the house on his own home, Taut devotes chapters to affordable interior and exterior design including landscaping. The vibrant folding key at the back is lettered, indicating colour schemes on a corresponding floor plan. "An essential part of Taut's work must be seen in his use of color which he had reintroduced to architecture during his Expressionist period. This provided for a great amount of articulation in the visual environment of standardized living units" (H.H. Waechter, Macmillan Encyclopedia of Architects). Junghanns, Bibl. 10. Sharp 129. Placzek IV, 181-184.
