Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art, 1974-1987. Complete run, mostly in fine condition, of one of the liveliest and most interesting art periodicals of the 1970s and 1980s.. "The Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary Art is a new concept designed to be a catalyst for the support and recognition of contemporary art in Southern California. Library stamp on no. 2. Some wear on cover of no. 5. Rear cover of no. 6 damaged. Front cover of no 11 lightly worn, with a few stains on rear cover. Some inevitable browning to nos. 12-28, which were published on newsprint. No. 14 more than usually tanned. No. 16 has a cover by John Baldessari: "I suppose so" rubber-stamped in red. No. 17 has a cover by Bruce Nauman. No. 19 is a joint issue with Art-rite no. 19, with a cover by Chris Burden. The cover of no. 21 is by JoAnn Callis. No. 22 has an ink mark on the cover No. 23 has a cover by Ed Ruscha. Faint discoloration at the bottom of no. 26. No. 27 has some foxing and a crease. Original price label on the first page of no. 28.
