SOLD WITH AN INTERESTING TYPED LETTER SIGNED BY TRAVERS DISCUSSING THE BOOK. Filling an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and dated May 27 1971 there's a lot of interesting reading. She discusses how she was originally going to use a pseudonym "which would have given me, or so I thought, a sort of lucky break, a chance to prove myself again and have the book taken as arising from somebody unknown, and therefore judged entirely on its merits, whatever they may be." She also says about the illustrator Charles Keeping (in part): "Charles Keeping who is doing the drawings for it, said that it was un-illustratable because it needed no illustrations, and demanded to be given a free hand because he could only add something to the book, not attempt to illustrate it." A great item.
