Warren County, Kentucky: John Franklin, 1817. Letter. Good. Approx. 9.5" x 8" 2 sided letter written by John Franklin. The letter transcription (as best as can be translated) is as follows: "I John Franklin of the County of Warren and the State of Kentucky Do here by constitute and appoint and I do nominate constitute and by the County and State afford said true and lawful attorney and for me and in my name to make Deed of conveyance to all the land drawn on the Bee Drawer from the United States for my services during the State War with Grate Briton for all titeables or parselles of Land that may be granted to me my heirs or assginees..I state the following discharge given bearing interest on the 7th day of November in the year 1814 and discharges on the 14th of April 1815. I douth here by rathify the act of my said attorney this day of March 1817. -John (his mark) Franklin." Light toning to paper. A very small tear lower section of letter resulting in very slightly loss of one word.
