As I believe him worthy, truly worthy - the kindest character..." Throughout his lifetime, Dr. Channing spent nearly his entire savings assisting "paupers" and the disenfranchised. Fine condition. First American physician to use anesthesia / etherization in childbirth, and reported it in the New England Journal of Medicine & Surgery in 1847.
