Light offsetting to plates from tissue guards. Pages uncut. A very good copy. According to the Introduction, "The exhibition described in this catalogue is a tribute to the memory of the enlightened bibliophile and his bookbinder; a page from history and art" (p. 9). Some of the devices reproduced here were those of Jean Grolier, Emperor Charles V, Robert Dudley (Earl of Leicester), Henry IV, Cardinal Richelieu, and Marie Antoinette. (Inventory #: 16280)
