Diane Arbus: An Aperture Monograph (Plus a Letter from the Arbus Estate)
first editionOriginal wraps
New York: Aperture (Museum of Modern Art), 1972. Original wraps. Near Fine. A very sharp copy of the 1972 1st paperback edition. A clean, Near Fine quarto in its pictorial wrppers. The name of Harry Amdur appears on the front free endpaper, the renowned co-owner of Modernage Photo Services of New York. Also included is a very interesting handwritten letter from the Diane Arbus estate to Ralph Baum, Harry Amdur's business partner. The estate is sending along 27 Diane Arbus photographs to ModernAge Photo Services to be worked on and, once the work is complete, the photos and prints are to be returned to Doon Arbus (whose address appears below her name). An uncommon record of a professional connection to the estate. (Inventory #: 12575)
