by [Saint Domingue]
[Cap Français, Saint Domingue, 1792. [4]pp., printed on a folded folio sheet. Quarto. Light dust soiling around edges. Near fine. Untrimmed. Two letters, both dated Jan. 8, 1792, from the French comissioners in charge of resolving the insurrection in Saint Domingue. The first addresses three parishes in the south and west of St. Domingue and the second is to the inhabitants of Port-Au-Prince. They demand a cessation of hostilities by the parishes allied to Croix-Des-Bouquets and urge inhabitants to overlook crimes committed by both sides in the name of peace. Rare, as is all printing of this era from Saint Domingue. The FRENCH UNION CATALOG locates one copy at the Bibliothèque Municipale de Nantes. (Inventory #: WRCAM51772)
