[Cap Français, Saint Domingue, 1792. [2]pp., printed on the rectos of a folded folio sheet. Quarto. Scattered very light foxing and soiling. Very good plus. Untrimmed. Two letters dated the 6th and 7th of January 1792 from the French commissioners in St. Domingue to the Colonial Assembly. The first requests that all parties to the political dispute in the colony be allowed access to the offices of the government for the purposes of negotiation regardless of their disposition. The second enjoins the assembly to pass two resolutions on behalf of the French National Assembly regarding military authority and the use of force. "La promulgation de ces articles est d'une nécessité urgente, et peut seule empêcher les désastres que produiroit l'anarchie actuelle, si elle subsistiot jusqu'à l'arrivée très- procahine des secours qui nous sont annoncés." Rare, as is all Saint Domingue printing of this era, with no copies in OCLC, and not in Roquincourt. (Inventory #: WRCAM51771)
