First edition of this eye-witness account by one of the participants of the winter campaign of 1848-49, commanded by Graf Franz Schlik (1789-1862), Austrian general, against the numerically superior revolutionaries in Hungary. In spite of the Hungarians' advantages, Schlik was able to win a number of battles and skirmishes. Schlik was one of the most successful Austrian generals during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848.
