Book measuring 3+ 5/16 inches tall, signed "Franklin D Roosevelt The White House 1937" on the inside front cover, and a tiny bookplate on the facing endpaper upon which is printed "Library of Franklin D. Roosevelt No. 1320 (number is handwritten). Bookseller's yellow label on the corner of the inside front cover "J. Field. Bookseller, &c 65 Regents Quadrant LONDON." Bound in the original maroon cloth, which is heavily decorated with gilt stamping. The spine title reads "Maunders Little Classic." The binding is lightly to moderately soiled, with minor sunning to the spine; the inner hinges have been discreetly strengthened. All edges gilt. Minor soiling to the front endpaper, and the half title is lightly creased. Complete with half title, engraved frontis and engraved title page. Three works in one volume. I: [ii], 256 pages; II: 155 pages, [i] blank; III: 84 pages. II: Chronology and History in Miniature; Alphabetically Arranged. III: The Miniature Law Dictionary... No author listed in book; Samuel Maunder (1785-1849). Most books from FDR's library are marked "Hyde Park." It is highly uncommon to be marked "The White House". FDR is the only US President known to collect miniature books. He amassed a collection of about 750 of them, many of which were sold in two auctions in the years following his death.. Signed.
