Enjoy the book," David Plaut, June 1994. A remarkable baseball man who along with Branch Rickey understood the importance of bringing black players into the major leagues. He knew that they needed a minor league team in the North so obtained a small franchise in Nashua, New Hampshire and was instrumental also in bringing along Roy Campanella and Don Newcombe. He was instrumental in eight National League championships for the Dodgers and four World Series. The 1951 and 1962 seasons ended in dead heats forcing playoffs. In each the Dodgers lost to the Giants in the 9th inning. He was one of the major sources for David Plaut's book hence the inscribed note. Bound in black cloth, spine lettering white.
