Light rubbing to boards, heavier rubbing to extremities with some wear to spine ends and corners, front pastedown loose, rear pastedown removed, early owner bookplate to verso of front board. Some toning to text, final paragraph of p. 12 and headline of p. 13 pasted over with blank paper, a correction by the printer, internally clean. A nice copy. * Only edition. This handbook outlines the procedures for raising, organizing and equipping militia units, taxes and fees used to support militias and the service obligations of individuals and corporations. Several sections deal with military law. This book is dedicated to Henry Howard, 7th Duke of Norfolk [1655-1701], Earl Marshal of England and an important supporter of William of Orange during the Glorious Revolution.
