Boston, MA: Branden Publishing Comoany, 1987. Hardcover. VG (Ex-gallery, with a few interior marks, otherwise clean.). Orange cloth, gilt letters on spine, black & illus. dust jacket. 296 pp. 11 bw plates. Considers the life and work of American portraitist Sarah Miriam Peale (1800-1885). Unfortunately, the last sentence of the dust jacket description has revealed to me that this is "A broad, fictional telling". There must STILL be something useful here, folks. I mean if JFK can have a movie, Sarah Peale can have a book, right? Buy this book and read one of the few (and no doubt very rare and collectable) fictional books relating to a 19th century American woman artist!
