Â His first studies were in his home town of ConcepciÃ³n, but he soon won a government scholarship to study in Milan. He returned to Chile in 1905, and was active as pianist, conductor, composer and teacher. As a composer he specialized in symphonic and chamber music and piano works. In 1922 he was elected as a member of the Society of Composers of Paris. (Inventory #: 12611)
