NY: Bouillon-Sanders & Chopp, 1926. Merriman Peck, Anne. Quarto. (16)pp. Illustrated throughout in color and black & white, and in a bright orange binding featuring the main character, Willie, with fully movable arms. A "Willie Wait a Minute," who is always postponing his responsibilities to play just a minute longer, is able to indulge his curiosity about a rabbit warren when some magic clover shrinks him down to rabbit size. However, every time he says "wait a minute," he grows taller, until he becomes trapped inside the warren. Only his solemn promise to never say those words again lets him come back above ground, where he promptly answers his mother call: "Yes, mother, I'm coming right away!" Illustrated by noted American writer, illustrator, and artist Anne Merriman Peck, and designed by Kay Swan as part of the "Swan Book" series. Green endpapers patterned with rabbits. Text block loose from boards, and some wear and soiling to covers, else a very good copy with a bright interior. No institutional copies.
