Handsome example of the printing of the Nile Mission Press, inscribed by one of the prime movers of American missionary activities in Islamic lands.American missionary Samuel M. Zwemer (1867-1952) served in the Persian Gulf befor being assigned to Cairo, "the intellectual center of the Muslim world. There he taught in the theological seminary of the Arabian Mission and the Cairo Study Center, interacted regularly with Muslim students, preached extensively in Arabic and English, and worked with the Nile Mission Press in preparing Christian literature for Muslims" (ANB). Zwemer was later affiliated with the Princeton Theological Seminary. Zwemer established the American Christian Literature Society for Moslems (note initials on title page) and also founded The Moslem World, a quarterly he edited from 1911 to 1947.Uncommon.
