VG-/ - no DJ. extreme scuffing and exposure to this original black cloth volume has roughened the surface fully. titling is discernible though rubbing has abraded the gilt-stamped characters. the front board is mainly filled by a pasted down label, half-titled in brown tones, resting upon an illustrated bottom half--all bordered in reddish brown. inside the fep/ffep are decoratively off white, gray , black and yellow. inscribed by prior owner on right fep, and blank sheet prior to half-title page. foxing is light but present throughout the volume. yellow foxing marks much of the marginal areas of the interior. no writing in the main ivory text. gilded head-edge and rough-trimmed fore-edge and tail. as is. 339 pp. Rockville.
