The programme of the Agudas Israel World Organisation as defined at its foundation Conference in Kattowitz in 1912, was stated as being "the solution - in the spirit of the Torah - of all problems which periodically confront the Jewish people as a whole". This object, the Kattowitz Conference asserted, was to be fulfilled: (a) By the co-ordination of orthodox Jewish effort throughout the world, in particular between the Jews of Eastern and Western Europe.(b) By work in and for Eretz Israel.(c) By the amelioration of the economic position of Jews in the lands of need.(d) By the creation of a Jewish press and literature inspired by Jewish tradition.(e) By systematically furthering Jewish religious education and the study of the Torah.(f) By the representation and protection of the interests of the Torah-true Jewish people."Illustrated with 8 b/w photographs of members of the institution in various capacities.
