A thick octavo measuring 8 7/8 by 5 7/8 inches with dust staining to the top edge of the text block. In a very good+, unclipped price on the front flap (although the lower corner is clipped) dust jacket with several short closed tears to the upper edge of the spine area and with very shallow flecking of the color at the very top edge of the front panel. The extreme upper edges of the flaps are discolored. Laid-in at the front of the book are a number of newspaper articles relating to archaeological finds on Nantucket. 871 pages including an extensive index. Illustrated with four fold-out maps and numerous black and white photographic reproductions. Originally published in 1924 by C. E.
