Small 8vo. Original wrpps., some minor soiling to covers. Paris 1917-1920. Les Cahiers Idéalistes Français ran in two series, the second in publication from 1921-1928. This first series contains many writings that were to some degree a response to World War I, including essays on pacifism, liberty, and the economic repercussions of war, and a letter from a lieutenant at the front. Many important writers and artists were among the contributors, including Paul Eluard, Charles Cousin, Romain Rollans, Han Ryner, Jacques Mesnil, Jean Cassou, Charles Vildrac, Benedetto Croce, Walt Whitman, Rabindranath Tagore, and Gorki.
