Folio. Printed paper wrpps. portfolio, contents loose as issued. Some small tears to paper wrpps., sunning along edges. Athens (Gutenberg Press) 1979. One of 500 numbered copies. Stavroulakis grew up in Crete, born to a Greek Orthodox father and a Jewish mother from Istanbul. He helped to found the Jewish Museum in Athens, Greece, and was its director from 1977 to 1993. During that time he helped to establish the museum's core collection, covering a 2,400 year Jewish presence in Greece. In the late 1990's Stavroulakis took it upon himself to raise the funds necessary to restore a Medieval Romaniote synagogue in his hometown of Chania, Crete, listed in 1996 as among the world's most endangered historical sites. He has authored books, taught at university, and exhibited widely as a painter, lithographer, and illustrator. As of January 2016, WorldCat does not show any listings of this title.
