Barcelona (Guinart y Pujolar) 1917. 1917 was a very tumultuous period in Spain's history, not to mention throughout the rest of Europe. During that summer, the Juntas de Defensa military organizations were legalized, there was a rise in the call for Catalan independence, and a general strike mostly organized by socialists which left 70 people dead. This period came to be known as the Spanish Crisis of 1917. Cuca Fera was published during those crucial months of upheaval. (Inventory #: 48475)
