Massachusetts, 1864. Album. Good. 8vo. Approx. 7.75" x 6.25." Red morrocan leather boards and spine. Blind stamped decorations, borders and gilt title and floral illustration on front cover. Blind stamped decorations, borders and gilt floral wreath illustration on rear cover. Album consists of 74 pages and 6 color lithographs (including the title page). 31 pages (including the right front flyleaf and rear flyleaf) used for inscriptions. Some restoration to binding. Most of the original gilt decorated spine rebacked onto new red leather. Front and rear hinges repaired. Boards are shelf worn with some dark spotting. Light soiling and scattered brown spots to contents. Inscriptions range in date from 1850 to 1864. Locations signed at the bottom of inscriptions include Georgetown, Newbury, Ipswich, Andover, and Byfield. The right front flyleaf has a nice drawn decoration with the initials E. A. L. inside the drawing. A few other inscriptions have some small drawings. (Inventory #: 7950)
