St. Andrews: WC Henderson, 1893. Hardcover. Very Good+. viii, 36 pp. 8vo., 181 x 122 mm, bound in contemporary dark green cloth. Second edition. A scarce and justly famous Ode to the ancient golf course of St. Andrews, the home of golf, which describes, in Scottish dialect, a round of golf with the Devil ("Deil" in the title refers to the Devil). First published privately in 1892, this second edition is also rare. Both editions were issued pseudo-anonymously by the author for his friends, with whom it met with great enthusiasm. Minor spotting, but still a very good copy. Donovan & Murdoch 120. Murdoch 256. (Inventory #: D14578)
