A personal note card (from Quillcot, Wiggin's summer home in Main) and original envelope post marked 1916 tipped in from Kate Douglas Wiggin to Helen Adaline Dunn who has written Kate a nice tribute to her book Rebecca of Sunnybrooke Farm which she had just read at the age of 30. Kate wrote a note back to her "Dear Miss Dunn/ I am ill & omitting as many/ letters as possible this summer/but-I must thank you/ heartily for your charming & appreciative note....? second/Sincerely Yours/Kate Douglas Wiggin/(Mrs. George Riggs). Below the envelope is a note written by Helen, in a very nice hand, as to why she had written Kate. Kate Douglas Wiggin died of bronchial pneumonia prior to the present copy's publication. Bound in green cloth lettered in gilt spine lettering gilt, gilt somewht fading. A very nice, clean copy.
