[New York]: Lustrum Press, 1972. Gibson's ex-libris stamp to the front pastedown; a near fine copy in photo-illustrated wrappers as issued, housed in a custom clamshell box.. First U.S. Edition (following a deluxe Japanese edition in a different format). Thin quarto. 5000 copies. A spectacular association copy, INSCRIBED by Frank to the book's publisher, photographer Ralph Gibson: "December 28 1973 in NYC / once again: / Let's be friends / Salut Robert". Founded in the early 1970s, Gibson's Lustrum Press was one of the most important and innovative photobook publishers of the era. While books signed by the semi-reclusive Frank have become more common in recent years, notable association copies linking photographers and indeed entire movements within photography remain rare.
