Friberg's 15 paintings for "The Ten Commandments" became the visual starting point for the movie's scenes, characters and costumes, resulting in an Academy Award Nomination for Friberg. With excerpts from an address by Cecil B. DeMille at a luncheon in his honor preceding the New York opening of "The Ten Commandments," in November, 1956.
