Norwich, VT, 2004. Artist's book, one of 25 copies, hexagon, each page unfolding each copy numbered and signed by the artist, Stephanie Wolff. Page size: 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches. Bound by the artist, hinged pages housed in blue/grey paper envelope. The text is from Thoreau's Journal, January 5, 1856: "The same law that shapes the snow-star shapes the earth-star. As surely as the petals of a flower are fixed each of these countless snow-stars comes whirling ot earth...these glorious spangles, the sweeping of heaven's floor." The grey letterpress printed text and silver pressure prints are hexagonal in format, unfolding in a counter-clockwise direction revealing snowflake prints and Thoreau's well-known text.
