Tanned and brittle, as is usual, though internally clean. About good, if a bit fragile. The expanded second issue (a shorter version appeared earlier the same year), of this rare early Los Angeles history, apparently the first to be published by an Anglo American. Issued concurrent with the American Centennial, with some account of the Los Angeles centennial celebration in an appendix. Includes Dr. J.S. Griffin's overland diary.
