Black and white illustrations and maps. The extremities are mildly rubbed and bumped, and there are several short scratches on the bottom edge of the text block. The dust jacket has periodic small closed tears and chips in the lightly rubbed edges. Robert B. Stanton produced what still remains the most thorough mile-by-mile record of the Colorado River, and proved the capability of building a low-grade railroad parallel to the Colorado all the way to the ocean.
