Born in Pennsylvania, Robert Fulton was regarded as the mastermind who created the world's first successful commercial steamboat named Clermont. As an engineer and inventor, Fulton was constantly sketching, planning, and blueprinting new ideas with pen and paper. Aside from being known for modernizing steamship technology, Fulton had other hobbies, art being one of those hobbies. This sketch comes from a very rare archive of Fulton sketches, similar ones have sold at auction for over $4300."
