The covers are rubbed and have multiple barely perceptible small stains. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. There is a one inch loss from the leather at the head of the spine. There is also a large chip in the leather at the head of the spine. The endsheets have multiple cracks along the hinges. The longest crack measures 5 inches. The front pastedown has a former owner's name and address in pen. The front hinge is a little weak. The pages are mildly browned. Numerous tape repairs in the margins of pp. 89-108 of the biography section. The text block is beginning to crack at. p. 625. Frontis engraved portrait of Brigham Young.
