Small section on one spine missing and repaired. The only work of fiction by antiquary and engraver Joseph Strutt (1749-1802), an historical romance set in 15th century England, published together with his play Ancient Times. The manuscript of the novel was unfinished at Strutt's death. Scott edited it for the publisher and completed the final chapter, and as such Queenhoo-Hall is Scott's first published work of fiction, preceding Waverley by six years.
