1802. Manuscript accounting for the payment of the crew of the ship "Commerce" by its master, Charles Rockwell. Dated New York, 26 November 1802, it records the names, payments and signatures of the crew including Amos Biney, Jonathan Mixer, George Fordham, George Goodwin, William Allenden, John Jones. The witness was David Phipps Jr. Amounts paid range from $4.39 to $92.37. Able seaman include George Abbot, Andrew Otte, Aren Higings (sic) & Stephen Hawkins. Folio sheet 9 1/2 x 15", folded in half, laid paper, residue of wax seal perforating 2 corners. A little foxed, but pleasantly authentic. (Inventory #: 22357)
